WARNING: There are some pictures in this post that might make you cry--I did.

Right after I got done posting the last post I decided to call the doctor about Caleb's eye, just in case. When I got to the doctor's office three hours later, it looked like his eye had exploded into a mucusy blob. (Sorry if TMI). Turns out, he did have a blocked tear duct but he also probably had pinkeye too. Did you know that when you have pinkeye, the eye doesn't have to be pink? Call me crazy but I DIDN'T. I guess the eye gets pink only if you rub it. Lucky for us, our little tike doesn't have very good control of his arms yet. The doctor gave us some antibiotics for his eye and it looks SO MUCH BETTER! Right now, you wouldn't even be able to tell he looked like this (below) yesterday. And finally, as far as the tear duct goes, we still should wash the mucus off with a washcloth (although now, thanks to the antibiotics, he hardly has any) and massage the skin between his eye and his nose in a circular motion. (Thanks Tracy for the tip).
Needless to say, yesterday and last night were pretty tough as far as this family goes. He looked so miserable and Kyle and I were miserable feeling so bad for him. He seemed to sleep off his misery yesterday and so when night time came, he was WIDE AWAKE and not very content when his mother tried to put him in his bassinet. I guess when all hope of sleeping is lost, he's usually content when we give him the finger. (No guys, not THAT finger. Sheesh.)
Today is a brand new day. A good day. In fact, Aunt Angie is coming to visit and she can spoil him like crazy with all kinds of auntie love!!
