Long time, no post

It's been a while since I've posted partly because of our week-long excursion up north and partly because I had a really long post all ready to go on Monday and then I just lost it somehow. Grrrrrr.

If I can recall, it went something sort of like this.

LIFE LESSONS LEARNED FROM THE PAST WEEK

1. Swings! Both Kyle's mom and my mom used swings as a crabby-baby life saver. It can't be just any kind of swing though. It has to be loud and clicky.
My mom even managed to snag the exact same swing that I used when I was a crabby kid! (Notice: I'm the crabby one.)

2. Never EVER lose your child's preferred pacifier in a town that doesn't sell that particular brand of pacifiers! Caleb was noticeably bummed.
3. Grandparents are AMAZING. They are especially good for pawning your child off on. ;) Just kidding guys. 4. Great-grandparents are a joy to have as well.
5. It's possible to meet the love of your life at 6 weeks of age.

6. 2 babies + 1 toddler = a LOT OF NOISE!
7. Grandma N knows how to get Caleb relaxed...
...really relaxed!
He did something like this EVERY time she held him.
8. And finally, life lesson #8...when you visit the relatives, you get to show the kid off and be reassured over and over just how cute your little baby is.

I must admit, showing him off to ALL the relatives in one week is a little tiring, but overall, I think Caleb did pretty well. He definately had his moments, but we survived the week!
Now that we're home, things have transitioned surprisingly smoothly.
Today was 79 degrees outside so we took a really long, refreshing walk. We all needed fresh air since we all got colds from being around so many people.
Thanks for patiently waiting for me to post again!

Too bad they don't make loud, clicky swings anymore! It was a lifesaver for my mom as well. We have the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders swing, and it makes ocean noises. The boys like that, and the fact that it has colorful fishies that swirl around overhead. What I don't like is how quickly it eats up batteries. I wish I could plug it in!

Sammy liked the same Soothies pacifiers when he was a newborn. I found out quick quickly the importance of always keeping a couple extra in the car and in the purse, just in case ;o).

We had a blast meeting Josh! He's been wonderful with the boys. Caleb is a lucky little boy!!!!
