The Stats

Stats regarding Caleb Wallace. Also know as C-Dubb. (As in "dubba-ya")

Age: 10 1/2 weeks

Height:
25 inches (95th percentile)

Weight: 12 lbs. 14 oz. (90th percentile)

Head Circumference: 41 cm (90th percentile)

Likes to do for fun: He loves playing with his Happy Hippo Gym, taking baths, sleeping in his swing, EATING EATING EATING, cuddling up to anyone, and getting his diaper change. His latest thing is the "Harley pose" when he's excited. He'll smile really big and put his hands and legs up like he's riding a motorcycle. It's resembles something sort of like this...
I must say his absolute favorite thing to do lately is to suck on his hands. He's just discovered the bounteous joys of fun his own hands can bring. He sucks, stares, waves--you name it. It's really cute to watch. My favorite is when he's sucking on his hands. He's so LOUD! I'm pretty sure he'll be quite amazing at drinking slurpees when he's old enough to have them.
Hair Loss: Affirmative.

Caleb used to have quite a bit of dark hair. Unfortunately his hair line is receding and is losing hair in the back too. He now joins his balding father and postpartumed mother who are both champions in hair loss. I usually keep a white burp rag on his tiny little foam pillow and I decided to wash it the other day. When I looked closely I saw all little baby hair on it--I ran to Kyle to show him my discovery, but I don't think he really cared all that much. Oh well. I guess most babies lose their baby hair eventually.

His hair is really cute but I gotta say...its weird. There's only really short, thin hair in the front, and the longer stuff is on the top way in the back and on the sides. I think he might have gotten this from me. Sorry bud.

Yep, the bottom picture is me. No, the monk hairdo was not in style back then. I was just hair-growth-challenged.

If he were a hero, Caleb would be: SuperPooperMan

I usually have a gallon ice cream bucket I keep out for Caleb's clothes he poops through so I can soak them. Lately, his bowel movements have had enough force to launch fireworks; ya know, the kind of fireworks the city shows on the Fourth of July. I don't know how he does it, but he hardly gets any poop were it should go in the diaper and most of it lands all over his back. Kyle recently even found some on his arm. His ARM!!! Now that's some powerful pooping!

I think I might switch up the ice cream bucket for a 5 gallon pail .

Sleeping: Well, he's not quite sleeping through the night but he's sleeping better. We had to fight him to go to sleep for 3 or 4 nights in a row, but since then he's been better about it. He usually sleeps anywhere from 2 to 6 hours at a time. It's usually consistant around 2 1/2 to 3 1//2 hours though.

He's taking naps in his swing now. As soon as he gets crabby during the day, I usually take it as a sign that he's tired. When I put him in the swing he initially fights it but then I think he realizes that okay, maybe he does want to sleep. We have a mutual acknowlegement that that is his nap place and he usually, eventually succumbs. However, I'm pretty sure that if he had it his way, he'd be sleeping on anyone's shoulder day and night.

And finally, completely not related to Caleb's stats...

I got a massage this morning. Kyle gave me gift certificate for one for Christmas when I was huge and pregnant and complaining about my sore muscles CONSTANTLY. The lady I went to has been doing massages for 10 years and she was A-MAZ-ING!!!!!!! Oh man, I'm sighing again just thinking about it.

Men, the absolute best, wonderful, amazing thing you can do for your wife/mother/girlfriend is give them a gift certificate for a professional massage. You won't regret it!! That is, unless she doesn't like them. So, maybe--nevermind. BUT---if your name is Kyle and your wife's name is Lori--it's the BEST PRESENT EVER!!!!

Thanks babe.

Lori, little Caleb is going to be bigger than my Sammy very soon, from the looks of things. I haven't had Sammy measured in almost three months, but he goes in for his next check up on the 27th. At his 6 month, he was 17 lb and 25 inches... he was 3 1/2 weeks early, but still! Wow, what a big boy!

Sorry about all the hair loss going on! Up until a few weeks ago, I was still massively shedding and constantly having to clean big hair balls out of our drain. Back in Oct I thought cutting my long hair would help, but nope, still clogging everything up. Don't worry about Caleb's hair though. Babies usually have lots of funny hair tufts and bald patches, but eventually everything starts growing in really nice by the time they're one... unless your my sister, Rach, who was bald until she was 2... oops!

He's really growing and getting chubby.
The pics are cute.
You were a cute baby, too, but bald for a long time.
Thanks for posting.

I love that smacking noise. I have the same gallon bucket for pooped on clothes. What works best for you to get out the stains? Oxy clean works pretty good but I am always looking for something better.

I wouldn't worry about the hair thing - you (and Rachel) both have beautiful hair now - maybe late hair makes nicer hair! He's cute with the hair he has. Grampa F. :D and I are both missing Caleb and you both too! Grandma F.

I think Mrs. Fey is right... I wish I had Rachel's hair... it's so beautiful. Your hair looks like it's really easy to manage and is also really pretty. Mine is straight, limp and boring... :-(.

P.S. Hope you had a good Easter!
