Yup. The little man must've been worn out from all of Grandpa and Grandma F.'s lovin' yesterday.
I put him down on his pillow last night around 8:30ish and he woke up this morning like this.
He must have wanted to look at the new art we put up on the wall yesterday, compliments of Kyle's aunt Karen. (The "Caleb" and the sheep right above the mobile.)
Not to leave out my side of the family, here's a picture in honor of my uncle Dave. They could practically be twins.
Now for the rest of my story--a.k.a. the boring part.
Where were we? Ah yes, I came home from the emergency room feeling like an idiot because I thought my insides might possibly be tearing apart but it was only a bad case of the toots.
Or so I thought...
I had another "gas attack" the next night, and then another one the night after. Each time they would come about 45 minutes to an hour after I ate. The pain was excruciating. Gosh, LABOR was easier than getting through an attack. I started eating every meal in tiny portions for fear of an oncoming attack. They still kept coming--over a period of 3 months. I was so frustrated, because not only was I getting stomach pain, but the back pain right before, during, and right after was disallowing me to even pick Caleb up.
I went to a mom's group a couple of weeks ago and a friend mentioned that she was having pain right below her sternum and her friend told her it might be an ulcer. I was like, "AHH! That's meeee!" I went home right away and looked up ulcers on the Internet. I had about half the symptoms.
I went to the doctor this past Tuesday and he diagnosed me with a mild ulcer due to anti-inflammatory meds. Mild? Are you kidding me? I pity the guy who's ever had a normal ulcer!!
In my case, the anti-inflammitory medicine was ibuprofen. I was dismissed from the hospital after Caleb was born with the directions to take 800 milligrams of ibuprofen every eight hours. I was juggling a newborn at the time and I didn't have time to eat all that much and the medicine was gradually mutilating my stomach.
I just have to say: How did I get to be 24 years old and not have any idea you're supposed to take ibuprofen with food?
I'm now on protonix, which is basically a super-duper antacid medicine and I feel a lot better.
The end.
(Sorry, it wasn't a nail-biter.)

Caleb totally has the Elvis look going on in his sleep. Maybe he was doing the "cribhouse rock".

p.s. When is MY baby going to start sleeping, like, EVER? A 4 hour block is a pipe dream for me still. Boo. Hoo. Hoo.
He's getting so big.
Can't wait to see him again.
Grandma N
I didn't know that about ibuprofen either, and my dad's a doctor and mom's a nurse, so don't feel too bad!
Hope you're doing well! Yay for Caleb sleeping through the night. Hopefully you'll have many more full nights of rest!!!
