Climbing Mt. Davenport

Caleb has always been a climber. Recently though, his passion for climbing has increased dramatically. We went to the Children's Museum today and instead of playing with most of the toys, he tried to climb them. I suppose this is yet another stage of development for the little man, but it's a little nerve racking. Climbing is no problem for Caleb, however, we're still working on safely getting down from what he's climbed.

Last week I was vacuuming underneath the couch cushions, something I like to do semi-annually weekly. All the cushions were off and Caleb took the opportunity to climb up on the couch. He must've thought he was big stuff because he sat on the couch, grinning for about 10 minutes--and in baby time, 10 minutes is a very long long time.

I put the couch cushions back on the couch a little differently--like steps.
Caleb has had a LOT of fun with them in the past couple of days.

(I actually took these pictures the other way around when he was coming down from the top cushion. That's why it looks like he's falling down on the third picture.)

Note to self: Write in baby book!! Caleb can: show you how old he is, clap, point to mommy's nose, pat his mouth while he's talking (a.k.a. Indian chant), click his tongue, and he points to what he wants. He says mommommommom and daddaddaddad quite a bit but other than that he doesn't have too much to say. He eats really well as of right now. He doesn't like his veggies, but if I hide them, he'll eat them. He likes most soups, bananas (finally!!), crackers, eggs, pasta, tomato sauce(!!), and Grandma N's homemade applesauce(!!). He especially likes it when mommy and daddy share their sweet snacks with him. When he wants your food he goes up to you and says, "Unh, unh, unh, unh," until you give him some. He runs, he climbs, and mommy has walked to the car without carrying him twice over the last couple of weeks because he walked there by himself!! (--at least most of the way.) Loves the outdoors. He is still very very curious about everything. He now smiles at almost every stranger or sort-of-stranger instead of pulling down his lip. It's a very shy smile, one where he ducks his head. It looks something like this.

(...And yes, I know. I have a lot of bananas.)
