Growing Up

I've been doing the tedious job of emailing all my pictures from our old computer to our new one (because the cd writer doesn't work--long, boring story.) I'm in the middle of transferring pictures from right around this time last year.

I think it might take the rest of eternity to get all the way to transferring the June pictures because I think I took about an average of 20 pictures per day. Plus, the delete button and I are complete strangers.

But still, can you believe that this was only one year ago?
2007
vs. 2008
He's turning into everything boy.

He loves particular things, especially things he sees daddy doing.

He likes to wipe of the "water" off the shower walls because that's what daddy does. He can spend up to 30 minutes in this shower and having fun in it.

Some of his favorite foods are grapefruits and green olives, also because he knows daddy likes them. He runs to the fridge and says "ah!" for olives. Last week I couldn't get him to eat anything but 15 or so olives for lunch.

He loves the color blue. He runs around pointing to blue things and says, "boo!" He also loves to point out blue things in books and pretty much anything else in this world that is blue. He knows his colors pretty well and although he can't say all of them, he can point to most of the main colors correctly.

Caleb's vocabulary seems to grow by 10 words every day. He'll experiment and say things for my ears or Kyle's ears only but when we go out it public, he grows shy.

He loves the numbers two and three. He points out 2's in his "First Math Book". We sort of have a routine every morning, where I'll make him his oatmeal while he climbs into his high chair. Then, not much later he'll yell, "book!" and point to our book shelf. I'll grab a book (lately it's been "My First Math Book") and we'll read it together. Most of the time he'll want to read the same book over and over so I'll give up reading and ask, "What do you see on this page?" (I figure if I ask an open ended question, I'll get to know what he might be thinking in that toddler brain of his.) Most of the time he points to something blue, saying "boo!", or pointing to a two, and saying "two!" But he eventually goes on to the other things as well. It's fun. And he also (possibly unconsciously) eats all of his oatmeal in the process. Lucky for him and me, we almost always have all the time in the world because it usually takes up a good portion of the morning.

In some ways, I feel like I have a million more new things to say about him but if I said them all you would be reading a very very long blog entry. So maybe I'll stick to a couple things per day.

And speaking of growing--my belly is doing that. Here's a picture I took early last week at 20 weeks.
By the way--for those of you who are perfectionists--have you noticed the very unevenly placed picture on the wall in all my preggo pics? Well, now you will and I'm not moving it. Teehee.

Oh! He's so cute. I just realized, too, that the last time I saw you, you were in the same stage of pregnancy as when I first met you at Jonathan's shrimp party. Full circle. I like that. :)

Miss you guys!

Its funny that Caleb points at everything blue. Abigail is all girl. Pointing to everything pink. She demands in the morning to wear pink, and she demands in the evening to wear pink pajamas.

Are you busy the entire Thanksgiving weekend? We will be in MN Friday thru Sunday and we will only be busy on Saturday. Let us know if you have time to get together.

I was thinking about all the pictures you have to transfer over. I always upload the pics from our computer to Walmarts photo website. They store them for me for free. And if anything happens to our computer I have an online storage of all our pics.

You could do that with your pics from your old computer and them download them from the site on to your new computer. Of course you don't have to use Walmart; they are other photo storage sites. I hope that helps.
