Caleb's language revealed!
Blana: means "banana"
Plano: means "piano"
I'm kinda hungry: said about every 20 minutes throughout the day and most certainly always 30 minutes after we've just finished supper.
I let him crawl: said because I needed to put him on time-outs after his hugs to Isaiah became too long and too forceful. So, he always wants to let me know he's letting Isaiah crawl rather than pinning him down. Nice, but unfortunately this also means Caleb has just tipped Isaiah over from where he had been standing. *sigh*
Let's read a Bible story: ah, music to my ears. We have a kids Bible and he loves reading this at breakfast. He asks for a story (or ten) every morning. It's good for me, too.
Isaiah's language revealed! (I don't know for certain if these are his words for actual people yet, but I like to think so.)
Dha!: usually said with enthusiasm. This means "Caleb".
Nah na na na na na: usually said in a whiny voice. Means "Mom". (Who else?)
Da da da da da: always said with a smile. It means "Dad".
Modem Mayhem: our internet has been working horribly over the last few weeks. Sometimes, not even at all. Finally I called our internet guy and figured out that our modem doesn't work very well. Now we can actually watch TV episodes on our computer without it breaking every few seconds. Kyle and I are a little bit starry eyed.
No Milk for You!: I'm slowly weaning Isaiah and he's not exactly happy with me. When he starts getting cranky (usually at supper prep time) he's at my feet, begging on his knees, whining for me. It's so disheartening but I'll be excited when he stops seeing me as "food" and starts seeing me as "mommy".
Outside Oasis: My boys completely forget they are capable of being crabby, tired, hungry, or whiny when they are outside. My mood tends to brighten with the sun as well. Things that would have been a big deal are just smoke in the wind.
(speaking of smoke...)
Smelky baƱo: the smokey smell in our bathroom that leaks through our bathroom vent from the neighbors upstairs who are smoking like chimneys.
Streak-Unless-Forced-to-Put-Clothes-On Syndrome: Caleb's got it. I don't like it. But I pick my battles and this isn't one of them. So, when we're home--he's usually in undies. Only undies.
Table tosser: Isaiah thinks it's hilarious to drop food. I think this might be one of the times in my life I'd sort of like a dog. He also loves spit the liquidy foods so I've been better about feeding him things like baby food and oatmeal. To my advantage, he's a great, great eater. He'll eat almost anything you put in front of him. (And the stuff you don't.)
The Hubs Daily: though I like to listen to NPR when I can, I don't catch up on current events nearly as well as I could. (My communications professor would be horrified.) Luckily, one 0f Kyle's favorite thing to do is read National Review Online. So yes, I know the health-care bill passed this week. I've gotten the play-by-play for a while now and I love it.
Toilet timeout: We're getting up to about two months since we've started potty training Caleb and were doing rather well. A few accidents here and there, but nothing too serious. Number two was always hard but we could deal with the accidents. Then he got a bad cold and there was serious regression. He started using his time-outs to do his business. It made for one frustrated mama and lots of laundry.
I thought I had a genius idea by moving his time-out to the bathroom but today he locked himself in for a while. Not sure if it's still a good idea. Luckily, the cold has seemed to pass and potty training is back to where it was before.

Hope it's nice weather for
a while, so the boys are in
great moods, and you can
have peace.
