Infrequent

I'm having a hard time posting lately. Caleb has stopped napping most days and Isaiah's trying to go down from two naps to one. It's quite rare when free time is available.

I don't, by any means, hate picking up after Isaiah who's curiosity allows him to open every cupboard and every drawer and empty out all the contents. But again, it eats up my free time and I feel like creating things or napping when I DO have a moment.

All this is to say: That is why I'm not posting as much. I just don't feel like it. Especially when down time is so tight.

When I do get on the computer it's really easy for me to say, "Oh, I only have 20 good minutes, I'll just surf some craft blogs for a while. Hi, my name is Lori and I'm a craft blog junkie. Let me just say: How do those woman do it?? How do they craft, blog, and be mothers every single day!! I've come to the conclusion that they either have no lives, neglect their children or send them to daycare, their houses are pigsties and they never wear clean clothes all while eating out every night, or they only need 4 hours of sleep. And I feel worse after reading them because all I've done was internet surf for the last 20 minutes. Of course, I'm only kidding, but honestly. How do they do it? They must have some serious talent in the time management category.

On a brighter note, I can show the things I HAVE been doing when I'm not blogging.

(And don't get discouraged when you see this because the hard, honest truth is that this is over a period of 4 months and I really should wake up one kid and take the other very awake one out of the crib right now but I really really want to finish this post, so I'm going to. Nobody's perfect, although it's easy to look it on a nicely cut and finished blog.)

I took this idea from this crafty lady, a mother of two boys. Isaiah is as "smooooth as buttah" wouldn't you say? Caleb has a smooth shirt of his own too.

Here's something I made for my new little nephew. I used fabric paint for the water and fabric for the whale.
When you turn it around, you can see the tail.

More stuff for cousin Jay.
And look! He's wearing the brown one! I learned a dyeing technique from another blog I love. So I've been taking all the white onesies I have (dirty and brand new) and dyeing them like crazy.

Here's another onesie for Jay with fabric embellishments. I might have gone a little crazy.

I like to make bibs as well. It's sort of a staple of mine for a baby gift.

I loved this vintage shirt of Caleb's that we accumulated somehow and added a kung-foo guy--it might be Bruce Lee (?)--with fabric paint and freezer paper stenciling.

Here's brown birdie onesie made with fabric paint and freezer paper stenciling.

I picked this shirt up from Once Upon a Child for free. I didn't realize it until I was home, but the cashier took a 100% discount off of it. Anyway, I obviously don't have any girls, so I gave it to a co-worker with a daughter who's also given me some hand-me-down clothes for Caleb. I really like shirts with birds on them, so I added one here.

I'm also in the process of making a bag and also a bed skirt for the boys' bunk beds. Who knows when I'll finish, but I'm enjoying the unhurried-ness of it. Everything else in my life is fast-paced and it's a nice slow-down. It's how I relax.

My favorite is the onsie with the brown stripe with the giraffe. Also love the boys' "smooth" shirts. Great work! G-ma F.

Wow! Your stuff looks great!
And thanks for the heads up on Dana's site (many months ago)--she has been one of my favorites to draw inspiration from as well.

My favorite line from this post: " Nobody's perfect, although it's easy to look it on a nicely cut and finished blog."
So very true. Hard to remember when looking at how "productive" everyone else is being, but true nonetheless.
