Updates on Everything I Can Possibly Think Of At the Moment

1.  I just brought Livia to the doctor and she is now 6 lbs. 6 oz!  She's gained a full pound since she was born and grown a quarter of an inch to 19 1/4 inches long.  She has a super major outie.  I thought it might be an umbilical hernia but it's just an outie.

2.  She LOVES bathtime.  I remember my other kids hating their baths when they were newborns, but Livie has never done anything but sit back, relax, and enjoy the water.

3.  The boys adore their new sister, but still adjusting to the newness of it all.  I've been calling their adjustment The Transition.  Isaiah seems pretty much the same.  In fact, when people try and give him extra special attention, he ignores them 75% of the time.  Thankfully, he's been obsessed with all of his kid's music CDs and asks for them constantly then plays where he can hear the music.  If he tries to play with Caleb, it usually ends up in fighting.
Caleb, on the other hand, is needing quite a bit more attention now that Livia is here.  He shows this by way of being her caretaker, holding her a lot and constantly saying how cute she is.  That's the sweet part.  The not so sweet way of getting attention is crying and yelling everytime anyone leaves, arguing constantly, and talking extra loudly.  He's also been extra pushy lately too.
I suppose I just have to keep up with the discipline, know that The Transition is a phase, and pray hard for patience and wisdom.  I've tried looking for advice online, but it all seems really amateur, so any advice you have is welcome.

4.  Not sure what it is about giving Livie gifts, but the boys love to do it.

Isaiah's gifts were a little more random.  Sanitizer?  :)

5.  I've been really thankful for my friends and family.  My parents and Kyle's parents, especially our mothers, have been a HUGE help to me these past three weeks.  My house has actually been clean for most of the time.  (I'm going to miss that.)  And I haven't had to cook more than twice since having Livia.  I decided that being proud is overrated and letting people help is way more cool.  I'm still exhausted by the end of the day, but I'd hate to think of how exhausted I'd be if I didn't have help.  I'm slowly figuring out how to manage three by myself.  Thank goodness I'm easing into it because it's a lot harder than two--even if Livia IS a great baby.

6.  We played carwash the other day.  The boys had fun with getting wet in the hot summer heat.  It actually ended up only being a lawnmower wash, but it was fun, nonetheless.

"Hi sir, would you like your lawnmower washed?"

"Um, you think it needs to be washed?  I guess so."

"Yes, yes, it's very dirty.  I'm getting this very clean.  Do you see sir?

"Oh wow.  This IS clean.  Thank you so much!  I'm one very satisfied customer."

7.  Cousin Jay and my sister Angie came over from Colorado to play with us last week.  Here's some pictures of them.

8.  Kyle and I went to Nebraska Furniture Mart on Tuesday and bought 2 couches and a loveseat.  They even threw in a small flat screen TV for us.  I'm so excited--we have furniture for our house!!

9.  Caleb went on his first pony ride at the zoo on Wednesday.  I never would have guessed he loved it so much, but he's very proud of himself for not being scared at all.

Great post.
I'm glad Livi likes the tub (oh, wait, do you spell it Livie?)
I loved seeing the lawnmower wash pictures. Good luck with the baptism.
