I've been doing a few small things to the house since we bought it a little over a year ago. It was move-in ready when we bought it, which was an incredible blessing since we had a 4 year-old, 2 year-old, and 6 week old to keep up with.
I've been wanting to do a couple things to the house so that I could add my own little touches and add a little of me into the mix. And slowly. Ever so slowly things are beginning to happen.
To the kitchen, I took down the blinds on the sliding door, took off the plaid curtains, and added my own fabric to it.

I changed a few more things to the kitchen, but I'll save that for another post.
Before
After
As for our 4th bedroom/office, we don't have it as a 4th bedroom or an office. It's my sewing room! I cannot for the life of me find a picture of how it was with our stuff in it, so here's a picture of the previous owner's stuff.
Although the dar purple-ly color was great, it was NOT a sewing room color. I wanted something bright and inspirational so I went with a seafoam greeny aqua color. It was called "Almost Aqua". I loved it on the swatch, not so much on the wall. Too light. I didn't even finish painting it all before I decided I'd had enough.
I went back to WalMart the next day and begged them to add more color for me. Here's what the color is now. Ahhh. Much better!
Now I need to finish it. I haven't even finished taking the blue tape off! I can't wait to slowly accessorize though. It'll be fun with pops of yellow and orange?? And putting my colorful spools of thread on the wall would be cool, too. I like thinking about it. Maybe that'll be another post, when I finished some day.

Your kitchen curtains look great - I love the grommets! Were they hard to do? Love the new color in the sewing room too! Good work! G-ma F.
you are so creative--love all of it! judy hulstein
Grommets were not hard at all!! In fact, it was really really really easy. Took me a total of 10 minutes for both.
Looks great!
You are creative!
