4 weeks

Lincoln turned 4 weeks yesterday.  Here's his 5 day pic with his quilt...

and yesterday at 4 weeks.  He thought he'd keep it the same and give me the crying look again.  Such a perfectionist, that boy.

I think he's now about 7 pounds or a bit above.  With his clothes on he was 7 lbs 4 oz two days ago.  He's neither a good baby or a hard baby.  He cries more often than I'd like, but he also has times where he'll hang out looking out the window for 20 minutes at a time, happy as a clam.  He gives me 2-3 hour stretches at night, loves being swaddled and continues to not like diaper changes, though he's been okay with a handful of them.

Lincoln has a bunch of caretakers.  5, to be exact.  Besides yours truly, this includes responsible and protective Caleb,

Isaiah the soother,

and Livia, my little rocker.

And then of course, there's the coolest Daddy ever.

It's a teamwork effort, that's for sure.

Things about these days I want to remember:

Isaiah has grown SO much in these last couple of months.  He loves it when we give him a math problem like 2 + 3 and adds them on his fingers.  And when we ask him what letter a certain word starts with.   And he's all about school (minus rest time).  What a change from last year!

Livia dresses herself every morning.  Most days she looks like this.

Caleb, on any given night, can be seen reading an encyclopedia before bed. This takes bedtime story to a new level for me.

The boys wake up crazy early every morning.  But they're not allowed to come upstairs from the basement until 6:30 to save us a bit of sanity.  It usually works out really well and this is when they do their best (kindest) playing.

We are reading the Family Bible Library books for devotions after supper whenever we can remember.  I've really come to enjoy this time where before, it was almost like pulling teeth because they wouldn't sit the whole or listen or care at all about it.  Now, Caleb and Isaiah are  into it and we can have some fun and interactive conversation afterward.

I'm taking a Modern Quilting class at the local fabric shop in town.  It's a year-long class and we need to make 9 quilt blocks each month.  So far we have about 70 blocks done.  It's a lot of work but I'm loving the class and having fun sewing.

Livia eats like a bird. She wasn't a super picky before, but just didn't eat much of it.  Now, she's thrown picky into the mix and basically sticks to the dairy and meat food groups.  And not much of either.  I wish I had 30 minutes every meal to hand feed her so she'll eat but that's not reality, especially since she's not starving.  But even dessert doesn't entice her to eat her supper.

Kyle is cleaning the church for me since I'm on maternity leave.  The amazing guy is working his butt off plus, it's sort of fun to discuss the cleaning qualities of vinegar Windex vs. plain Windex with him.  It's a topic I actually understand.

Wish we could help more with the babysitting. :)
Thanks for the pics. Lincoln looks a lot bigger. Is Livia having a tea party?
Looks like you have some helpers.

So good to hear what you're up to and how things are going. Looks like the "bigs" are good helpers with Lincoln. Kyle looks tired. :-)
