He's got my coloring...

Caleb has been doing really great today! I think he's decided to make last night up to me by being really good, cooing and gurgling most of the day. We're in the middle of trying to get Caleb on a good sleep schedule, so my sleep for the next week or so won't be all that much. I'm expecting it to be hard, but that doesn't necessarily make it easier.

Anyhoo, back to my good day! Caleb let me take a shower and do my make-up this morning. I dragged in his Happy Hippo Gym into the bathroom and he batted away at the toys for a full 35 minutes!!

I happen to put the gym right in front of the mirror so I ended up straddling him and the gym while putting my make-up on. I whipped out my foundation and accidently spilled it RIGHT on Caleb's head.

Ooops.
When people ask us who Caleb looks like we always say he looks like Kyle but he has my coloring. Now you can see for yourself. :)

Then we went to the library and he hardly made a peep! The only sounds he made were the good baby sounds.

Oh! That reminds me--Caleb's favorite words to say are "goo" and "gee" where the "g" has the same sound as the "g" in "goat". Very precious.

We also have a new toy around the apartment! Rose is letting us borrow this little chair and he batted the little animals for another half hour this afternoon.
Its so fun watching him be interested in toys now! I feel like I can finally get stuff done now.

And finally, I weighed him at my mother's meeting yesterday and he is now 12 pounds 2 ounces! There were two other 2-month old babies there and Caleb looked like agiant! In fact, he looked more like the 4 1/2 month old that was there. He's a lug!

Cute pictures!
He's getting more alert all the time. Can't wait to see him again.

There have been a couple times when I've rubbed a little bit of cover up on my boys' faces to cover up things for pictures... but it never really blended in that well. At least you have something that would match his skin tone!

I love reading your blog. So many of the things you write I can relate to closely. I don't know if our sons are that much the same or all babies act this way and people forget (grunting, not sleeping, nervous about pictures, etc...) I understand what you mean about big lugs. Aiden was 14lbs. 9oz. at 2 months (he is now 3months and the rolls of chubbiness have kept on growing)
Keep up the great writing.
