Dear Grandpa N,

Even though I saw you on your birthday this Sunday, I really want to wish you a Happy Birthday again!! You see, you are really sweet and cool and cuddly, and I wanted you to know.

I met you for the first time on your birthday last year. Even though I didn't really see you cuz I was sleeping, I loved you because you were really fun to snuggle against.
Your hands were as big as ME!
I decided I'd better at least open one eye to see you and I liked what I saw.
Grandpa, you make me laugh...
...and you let me play with the coolest things. You also take me on the coolest rides--like on lawnmowers... ...and on wagons...
...and even on your shoulders!!!
My mom told me that you don't like it when my face is dirty or boogery. She said that when she was little, you'd lick your finger and wipe off her face. She does that to me now!! Crazy, huh?

I really liked it when you took us to the Platte River to go Air-Boating. My favorite part was when you walked me through the water. The sand was so squishy in my toes!! I'm just glad that you were there to hold me up!
Grandpa, I know sometimes I'm a little short tempered with you, but don't take it personally. I'm short tempered with a lot of people. Yes, sir. Many many people have seen my wrath. But to be honest, if I had to choose my top two favorite Grandpas, you'd be one of them! Hive five!!
Now that I'm older, I can't wait to do more stuff with you. I'm sick of all that laying around stuff and being held like a baby. Naw, I wanna do cool big boy things like FIX stuff and you let me do that with you. Mom says you are the handiest man she knows! She told me you made her a wooden violin, a doll house, a kids table, you fixed all of her broken necklaces and knobs and you even built her ROOM in the basement when she lived in her old house!! I want to be just as handy as you!
Well, I'd better let you go. I should probably start crying now anyways, cuz I'm feeling a little tired. I just wanted to wish you a Happy Birthday again!
Love always,
Caleb

Caleb,
What a nice memory of you and G-pa N. You sure grew in one year.

6 months apart, and Sammy and Caleb are the same size. How funny. Sammy is in about the 15th percentile for weight and height. Ha... my poor, shrimpy little Sammy :o)
