It's been fun this last week since Kyle has been on a little hiatus from school. We've done quite a few things while he's had the free time. This past Thursday we went to the fair and camping later that night.
It was quite an adventure.
Caleb LOVED the tractors at the fair.

After we went home and the boys took their naps, we went camping to Branched Oak. It was a bit rough making the fire, and Kyle had a bit of a snag in the tent-setting-up
but all went well. We gave Caleb a bag of Doritoes and a tent pole to swing around and he was happy.
He didn't like being held with one hand while I tried to take a picture of the whole family enjoying tenting. I love this face...
I think Caleb ate a total of 14 marshmallows and was up 4 hours past his bedtime. I think if he had his way he would camp every night.
Isaiah chilled on dad's lap.
Caleb helped me take care of Isaiah. It was a little frustrating not being able to get the fire going at first because all we had was matches and it was really windy. So we needed a little extra help with the babysitting. Caleb was happy to oblige.

I'm so happy Isaiah has turned into an outdoors little guy. It wasn't long ago that he hated wind, sun, cold, and heat.
In the tent: About the time we were getting REALLY annoyed with the the very overtired, overstimulated, overmarshmallowed child on the left.

After we threatened to go home if he didn't sleep, Caleb fell fast asleep in about 2 minutes. Isaiah slept really well, even though a thunderstorm passed through.
The next morning we wrapped up a great camping trip with a traditional trip to McDonalds for a hashbrown for Caleb. Then we went home and slept.

The End.

It was so fun hearing about and seeing pictures of your camping and fair trip! Looks like a good time was had by all. Hope you're feeling better after catching Isaiah's cold/cough, and I hope that the rest of you don't get it! :/ G-ma F.
Sweet.
I kind of want to go camping now...but I am laying in my comfy bed with the laptop while I write this...so maybe not.
I love the first picture of the fair with the faris wheel in the background. Isaiah looks very content. Miss you guys.
i love your posts lori -- you keep it real with toddler life! i must say that the overtired, overstimulated, over-candy-fed child syndrome is what has kept me from really wanting to go camping.. wanted to do it at least once before baby came, though, so hopefully we'll get to!
Wow, you are brave to go camping with 2 little kids in a tent. Going home to sleep was a great idea. Looks like everybody had fun.
