Here's what it looked like before:
Everything was in place, that is, except for a curtain. The curtain that the previous owners had left was just fine but I wanted something super girly. I found exactly what I was looking for when I came across this tutorial and here's the result.
I love how girly it is and yet so simple. I've looked everywhere for a printed fabric that I liked and couldn't ever fall in love with anything but after I saw the tutorial I knew it was perfect. It even matched the (un-ironed ) ruffles from her baptism dress I hang on her little shelf.
And if she ever wanted to let the light in...
I think she likes it. She was so patient with me when I spent an hour trying to finish up sewing the curtain. She didn't cry at all--in fact, she fell asleep on the floor, waiting for me to "get done already".
Who knew $10 of Wal-Mart sheets could turn into something so cute?

Did you use different sized ruffles than the original post? These came out so adorable, and I can't wait to try them in my guest room!
